It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Faculty of Information Technology. The students are the heart of our faculty, bringing with them diverse experiences, perspectives, unique passions, talents, questions, and aspirations to our community and their studies. They are taught and supported by dedicated faculty, instructors, and staff who possess deep expertise in research that defines the field across a wide range of disciplines, advance teaching and learning practices, and enrich the student experience and their growth both inside and outside the classroom.
Information technology, in its various branches, is no longer an isolated science or discipline. We now live in a world where most industries and sciences rely, at least partially, on information and communication technologies. The intersection of engineering, health, and management disciplines with information technology has become indispensable. In this context, the Faculty of Information Technology places at the core of its mission the preparation of graduates with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills, whether to work in the industrial and service sectors or to engage in academic and research careers, along with communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
The faculty offers a bachelor’s degree in four majors: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing. Additionally, the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program has been recently accredited. As part of the university’s strategic vision, which focuses on leadership, innovation, and enhancing competitiveness, the faculty continuously reviews and updates its study plans to ensure they keep pace with the rapid changes in technical trends and the needs of the labor market.
The faculty is a rich and curious community. I look forward to getting to know you all and supporting your progress over the years on campus and beyond.
