The Department of History was established in the academic year 2020/2021, alongside other departments in the Faculty of Arts, including the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, the Department of English Language and Literature, and the Department of University Requirements and Basic Sciences. The department aims to prepare qualified graduates in history, viewing it as a foundation for nations, where the past is studied to understand the present and anticipate the future. Since its inception, the department has been offering a Bachelor’s degree in History and boasts a qualified faculty specialized in various historical periods to enhance the quality of student education and training.

The department aspires to achieve leadership and excellence in historical studies at both the local and regional levels by fostering comprehensive knowledge among students, enabling them to become active contributors to the nation’s development and progress.
