The civil engineering discipline is regarded as one of the most prestigious fields in engineering faculties worldwide due to its diverse areas of work. A civil engineer’s role encompasses various engineering aspects, including the design, construction, and maintenance of structures such as buildings (with their different types and uses), bridges, roads, dams, water reservoirs, water supply and irrigation networks, and sewage systems. Civil engineers also play a significant role in testing construction materials, managing engineering projects, calculating quantities and costs, and finding solutions to soil and foundation issues. Additionally, they propose and design suitable construction methods, actively participate in traffic and environmental studies, and assess the environmental impact of various projects.

Given the comprehensive nature of the civil engineering profession, and to achieve the department’s goal of graduating well-qualified civil engineers, the civil engineering curriculum at the Faculty of Engineering, Ajloun National University, has been designed to encompass all of the aforementioned aspects.

To provide high-quality education in civil engineering and to actively contribute to community service.

To graduate qualified civil engineers who can make a meaningful impact on sustainable development in their communities by providing high-quality engineering education, while actively serving the local community through scientific research, knowledge exchange, engineering consulting, and professional activities.
